I wonder, if I have a friend who's got a PC with MSN and video chat thru that.. can I use iChatAV to video with him? if not, are there other apps other than iChatAV that will permit this?

thanks all.

No, you can't. iChat AV only works with AIM 5.9, allegedly with Triton, and with Trillian Pro.

aMSN and Mercury Messenger claim to be able to video chat with MSN.

thanks man, that sux.. so then, on the flip side, can a PC user easily download and use AOL based webcam software? or do they have to pay for anything?

I'm trying to do iChat AV with a PC user, so any help you can give is appreciated.

AIM 5.9 is free, Trillian Pro isn't (but according to my PC friends, it's very nice), and Triton doesn't work with iChat for video chat, according to AOL's web site.
