Hi,

Is it safe to delete Garage Band and all the supporting files for it without interfering with other applications? I'm not using it at all and would like to gain the disk space.

I've also installed Growl and would like to remove it, do I just delete it like any other application?

Thanks,
Gemigene

Yes, you can delete both programs without interfering with anything else.

I've had Garageband deleted for quite some time now, and saved myself about 5 GB of HD space. And I've also done 3 combo upgrades (10.4.6 thru 10.4.8) will no ill effects. I'm considering deleting the iDVD folder as well, to save another 2 GB. After all, I don't own a miniDV cam...

I figure I can always reinstall them if I need them at some point in the future.

generally speaking, you can delete any application without affecting how or whether other applications work. there are some notable exceptions, such as quicktime components however.
