I think not many are aware of a nice little app Peter Maurer (developer of the excellent Butler, amongst others) has made called Clip Show: Peter Maurer ▸ Software ▸ Clip Show

It's a movie player with playlist and full screen support. It's what Quicktime player should be really. I think he's keeping it quiet for the moment (not on macupdate and versiontracker), but check it out.

I just found this last night, and it is pretty good. All it needs is an EQ and colour controls for video. I also like the fact that you can take sequence clips, put them into a folder, add .movies extension, and it'll open them all as if it were an archive within clipshow

I also like the look of the GUI. To me it's like a crossbreed of QT/iTunes/WMP, all in one.

I always liked WMP's integrated sidebar for playlists.

I happened to come across this a few days ago. It's really nice.

If Quicktime gets a Leopard GUI update I'm sure it'd be really similar to this. I like how clip show has the playlist on the left.

I've been using quicktime for all my video playing (since it has the fullscreen controls) but I miss the playlist from VLC. Clipshow brings both of these together.

I have a feeling Apple may ditch QT and just have Front Row using the QT framework. They seem to be into this 'fullscreen' editing/slideshow thing now
