Hi there, do any of you know how to set the default encoding in mail app. to Big5(or any other code) ? And by the word "default", I mean users will not have to choose from the "Message -> Text encoding ->Big5" everytime he sees the encoding scrambled in the mail.

If not, I might as well consider switching back to entourage ...

Sorry, I meant setting a defacult encoding for viewing incoming messages, instead of outgoing ones. Thanks though.

The agreed standards for email require that all messages have a header that gives the encoding, and Mail will automatically use that. If someone is having to adjust the encoding for an incoming, then the sender must be using some kind of junk software or webmail system that is defective. I recently saw one from China that sent Chinese as if it were Polish.

Mail does not have a way to always override the incoming headers or set the default for incoming as far as I know, so if messages like this are important and can't be fixed at the other end then probaby best to use another mail client.
