Microsoft has a free Windows Media Encoder Suite... but it only runs on Windows.

Why though? Seriously, is there some good reason you really need to do this? You will get a quality hit when you convert.

The WMA format is Windows Media Player-specific. And even in the Windows world WMP is not all that great. Why do you need to have the files in this format, when MP3s play on EVERYTHING (just about).

I don't know if they offer something, but it is possible that Flip4Mac - Digital Media Tools for the Mac will have software that will do this, though as everyone else has said, you are going to get really lousy quality going from one compressed format (mp3) to another (wma).
