How would I go about doing amateur comic book stuff? My mbp came with a comic strip kind of thing that I can use for photos but I want to know what I woudl use if I wanted to do decent quality drawings. Is there an affordable kin dof program I could use for this and then jus tuse the comic strip program to drag and drop the pics into a comic? I am rying to avoid having to scaneach rawing......I am hoping there is another program I could use for the drawing. Please help! This is for a project.

P.S. i emailed my university's newspaper to find out what program they use but haven't received a response.....i've seen ther production office though so I know their program is mac compatible.

If you want to do the drawing on your computer, I reckon you'll want a graphics tablet (Wacom or the like). Your university's newspaper probably just scans in any original comics, if it's anything like the newspapers I've worked at.

Are graphics tablets easy to use? I've seen them but never used one......can you add color to the drawings? And one girl at the newspaper thought they may just scan in their comics but she wasn't sure. I am still waiting on the response from the editor though to get confirmation. I actually do have a scanner though...just not sure if scanning everything would be a smooth process.

Personally, I draw cartoony stuff using Adobe Illustrator. If you scan stuff in, you can make it a somewhat transparent picture in the background and trace over it. I've done it. It's a heck of a lot easier than putting the paper on top of the monitor and trying to trace it that way.

Thanks you guys. I think I just found out my school offers the whole Adobe Creative Suite for an unrealistically discounted price. I may look into it while I'm still a student here....lol
