I ripped a DVD. The output files are "VOB" files. There are 5. Four are 1,023.8 MB and one (the last 3 mins of the film) is 485.7MB.

I want the film in two 700MB files to burn as data to two CDs (one 700MB file per CD) in any format that is compatible with VLC.

Is there anyway of doing this?

I don't have Pop Corn. Any freeware available for consolidating and converting VOB files?

Or, to rephrase: What are the freeware options for shrinking the MacTheRipper VOB files?

NOTE: DVD in question is privately owned. I simply want to get around the region code cos' I'm moving countries. I only watch DVDs on my computer, so, in theory, I could keep the contents on my harddrive, but that takes up too much diskspace.

Do you have Toast Titanium? It lets you burn or make Images from individual VOB files.

Do I have Toast? Well, I have a Toast icon in Applications. But when I open it, it bounces up and down in the dock a few times and immediately closes. It's been like that since I got this computer, a PowerBook G4 SuperDrive, about a year ago.
