I have a cable modem and am using the iBook listed below. Safari is really slow to load some images. For example, if I click on a Yahoo news story, Safari will often just sit and do nothing for 10-15 seconds. If I click the "stop loading page" button, then it will pop to the news page without any images, showing the text only.
For another example, if I am trying to view a page on a message board where several users have linked pictures (like the cat picture thread in the lounge), I will be waiting forever for the pictures to load, and then most will fail. But if I click "stop loading page", and then control click an unloaded image and open it in a new window --boom-- the image loads almost instantly like you would expect with a cable modem. Then if I refresh the original page, all of the images from that server will load very quickly, as if Safari suddenly realized that it could actually load images afterall.
When I use Firefox none of this happens, so I'm guessing it's a Safari issue. Or maybe the way Safari is interacting with my ISP? Can anyone suggest any fixes?
