Whenever I try to bookmark a page in Camino it automatically adds the link to my bar that I have set up under the URL bar. I don't want it to do that.

Anybody know how I can fix this?

Well, to be fair Camino always asks where you would like to save a bookmark (like Safari).

Perhaps you mean that the default choice is "Bookmark Bar"?
