I merged my wife's iTunes library with mine and now we have a ton of duplicates. I can use iTunes to find the duplicates, but is there an easy way to delete them?

If you find the duplicates through iTunes by Edit- show duplicates... that's the only way I know for sure to do it. Usually I apple click to highlight every other song and eliminate the duplicates.

How about a terminal script? That shouldn't be too hard, should it?

Note that "duplicates" does not ensure that each entry is entirely identical to all the others; if you have songs that have the same title, they will show up as duplicates even if they have different playing times, equalizer settings, are different versions of the same title from different albums (I have The Celts by Enya about six times and they're all different...). So while a script may handle all of this stuff for you, it would be VERY complex to code for differentiating between identically-titled pieces that are different.

This sounds like a job for "couples time!" I personally would sit down with my wife and review each duplicate to make sure WE didn't accidentally delete THE version SHE wanted.
