Hi All,

Having migrated from my 12" G4 PowerBook to a MBP C2D, I find that my favorite movie viewing app, MPlayer, no longer plays in full screen mode (it stutters). It'll play double sized movies fine, but just not movies that are resized to take up the full screen.

I've found what I think is the latest compiled version, still no joy.

Can anyone recommend a movie app that'll take it's place? (I already have VLC, but I've found MPlayer to be compatible with more formats, plus I really like MPlayer's ability to jump forward and backwards with a press of the arrow keys).

Of course, I'm willing to believe that something that migrated over from my 12" G4 is causing MPlayer to stutter, but I can't figure out what :-/

Thanks in advance for any help,

Chas

ps. and yes, I have googled around for apps, just found MPlayer and VLC again, but nothing else stood out

VLC does jumping too, and actually has 4 different user-configurable jump periods; three use two keys (apple, option, command plus the left or right key), one uses three keys by default, however you could set the one you use the most to just be the arrow keys.

<blush> that's what I get for not looking more carefully. Thanks Mark!

As for a MBP with eSATA, I'm thinking of getting one of those express card adaptors, my MBP is jealous of my G5's eSATA array ;-)
