Is this really an unsolvable nightmare? Having got a MPB I have found that my old trusty Illustrator 10 keeps quitting every time I try to open a file. Binning the prefs and restarting the mac helps for about 2 or 3 hours but them it started again. I've upgrasded to CS2, which I didn;t want to do as I hate it campared to 10, but it does the same thing. There were some posts about CS being rosetta unfriendly with a supposed "fix" which doesn't seem to work for me.

Any other AI 10 or CS2 users out there with some advice. Currently I'm offering to swap my MPB for a recent G4 PB just to get back working!!

I haven't done much research, but I have found that Illustrator CS2 will "unexpectedly" quit within 10-20 minutes of non-use (if I have worked on files and then closed them, but left the app open) on my MBP. I have not had it crash while working on files, but I also haven't worked on files for more than a few minutes; just doing quick edits.
