I record online audio streams of my favorite radio programs with audio hijack pro. audio hijack does its job great, no problems there. but i always seemed to have strange issues with my actual recordings.

2 out of 3 of all of my mp3s that i hijack end up screwed up. what happens is during any random point, the audio will suddenly restart and start over from the beginning of the recording. so here's an example. i typically record 4 hour programs. at the start the intro music plays, show news, etc, etc, we are 2 hours into the show, when all of the sudden the audio cuts off and i hear the intro music again. i hear for the 2nd time the show news, etc etc. by the 4th hour, audiohijack pro is scheduled to stop recording, so what i end up with is a 4 hour recording with only the first half of the show repeated twice.

i could never figure out what was causing this until today! the show's browser player is really crappy so i finally started to play the stream in safari (i know QT works too). i noticed that a stream plays back in safari like a quicktime movie a with time/play bar. what is happening is that if my connection can't keep up with the stream, the thing just starts all over instead of stalling and waiting for the stream to come back. this has something to do with buffering, correct? i usually run camino with the sole purpose of running the stream and have audio hijack capture it, but even though its camino is it not QT that is still running the show in the background?

anyway, please let me know if there are any settings in QT that i can change to prevent this. or whateve else i can do in system settings, thanks!
