I have a non-technical friend who over the years has recorded 300 or so Minidiscs from Radio which we want to move to iTunes.

Now, he has a iMac G5 (no digital in) and a ES component deck with Toslink out. So my first question is;

1. Is there a recording program (free or $$$) which will record from a Digital in and put in the track marks?
2. Can anyone recommend a good USB device with digital in? (Radioshark is not an option, he uses proper roof antenna's and a Sony ES component radio).

My second part related to new recordings. He wants to be able to record up to 2 shows at the same time with timer recording. After this, we need a simple program to put edits in so he can cut it down to just the parts he wants. It would be nice if this could be made to work with a remote (like the EyeTV remote) so he can just put tok marks in whilst sitting on the couch and listening.

Thanks in advance,

Daniel.

300 or so is going to be a problem...
Does your friend really want all of them? Is there a better way to get the source audio?
