Just created a dvd via iDVD

Now I would like to save the this DVD (DL) so I could record a copy of it in the future without having to go through the compression of iDVD could I save it as a toast image ? Then use toast at a later date to put it to DVD. I was just wondering because it is a dual layer DVD.
