Hi All, this is an Aperture question.
For years I've had a file naming scheme that uses the exif date and time info: yy-mm-dd-hh-mm-ss-a, with the "a" being a letter to differentiate shots taken in the same second.
In Aperture, I've figured out how to rename files with most of my normal naming scheme (the date and time portions), but I haven't figured out how to add a letter (I prefer a letter to a number because it's easier for clients to read the filename as time-stamp without an extra number at the end).
Because of Aperture's database structure, I'm able to have files of exactly the same name in a project (as they were shot in the same second), but I fear that when I export them, there will be a problem (as I'm sure most know, you can't have files of the same name sit in a folder).
Can anyone suggest how I could differentiate files shot in the same second, when applying a custom name on import? (yes, I realise I could do this manually, but I regularly deal with thousands of shots per job, and I got Aperture to streamline my workflow, not add to it :-/
Thanks in advance for any assistance,
Chas
