I really need to run a ,exe file for my psp. I downloaded I from a reputable source and i am sure it is virus free. I was always under the impression that .exe files could not be run on mac... At all. Is there any way to open and run a .exe file, or am I out of luck?

It can't be done (unless you are using Windows on your Mac of course). Perhaps the only exception is that self-extracting zip files have .exe suffixes, and these will decompress using Stuffit Expander.

you can get an emulator which pretends to be a PC, so you can run it. but it probably wont work with the usb ports. (not sure though)

or, if you have a newer mac, you can get software to run windows apps on you mac, without emulating.

I find it interesting that MS has made Virtual PC for Windows a free download, yet still charges for the Mac version.

Follow Macintologist's advice above. Virtual PC if you're using a PowerPC-based Mac, or one of several Windows virtualization solutions if you're using an Intel-based Mac (Parallels, Boot Camp, Cross Over)
