What's the easiest way to transfer an entire iTunes library, including playlists, from an XP machine to a Mac? My mother-in-law just switched and I am trying to make it as seamless as possible. I tried just plugging in her iPod, but it will only transfer purchased music and she has a lot of ripped CDs. I'm thinking of putting her iPod in disk mode and transferring the music files (MP3s and AACs). Can I just move the iTunes Music Folder, as well as the .xml library file and and the iTunes Library file? Are these last files compatible between Windows and Mac or am I going to have to export all of her playlists manually on her PC and then import them on her new MacBook?

Anyone have any experience with this?

thanks,
kman

Yeah, you can just move the whole iTunes library folder over.

You can try using this small guide I posted in here. This is how I move my PC iTunes settings to my Mac.

Cool thanks. I've done this lots of times Mac to Mac, but I wasn't sure if I could move from PC to Mac.

Now if only moving her Treo were that easy
