Hello

I have an iBook G4 late 2005 running Mac OS 10.4.8 and every time I try to install an application, the installer does not progress at PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION. The application still operates and there is no beach ball, but it just doesn't progress. Also this is not just with one application. I have tried it with iLife '06 and a few other things, so it applies to anything I try to install.

Just a few questions:

1. Is there more than a gig of space free on the drive?
2. Are you logged in as an admin user or a standard user?
3. Have you tried creating a new user and trying to install there?
timeline - SE/30, some crappy performa, original bondi iMac 233, TiBook500, macbook pro 2GHz
