Is there software for OS X that will sync or manage music that has been placed into the iTunes music folder without using iTunes?
I have copied over songs to my iTunes folder and iTunes will not recognize them.
There is a program for windows that will do this, iTunes Library Updater.

Is there any reason why you are not adding them via iTunes?
If an app doesnt exist - then i'm sure a folder action script could be put on the iTunes folder to do what you want.
Let us know why you add the music directly into the folder and not via iTunes, then its usually easier to make a suggestion.

Adding by folder can be time consuming. I'm importing alot of my CDs with Max due to iTunes freaking out on scratched CDs. I figured it would easier to have something add songs in batches.
Thanks

I don't see the difference between dragging a folder onto another program to add songs to iTunes and dragging a folder onto iTunes to add songs to iTunes. Won't it be equally time-consuming either way?

Just drag all your songs in batch into iTunes, iTunes needs to create the XML entries for your iTunes Library file. I wouldn't take a chance with any other software, because it would suck to corrupt your entire library.

Yep, theres no need to add them folder by folder or one by one. Select them all and drop them on iTunes.
