This is an odd one, I thought it would fix itself, but no such luck.
For the past 2 months when my ical alarm alert windows pop up, they are off screen. I can see a little bit of the left hand side of the window, and have to drag it on screen to view them. I'm not sure what caused this to happen.
I formatted my iBook for other reasons, and thought maybe it would also fix this issue, but no such luck. Any ideas?
Here is a screen shot of what I'm talking about :

I've got the same problem. All I can see of my iCal alert window is the left edge , and I've missed some notifications because of it ( because I don;t hear the alert sound , either , due to music etc overwhelming it. I find it odd that iCal does not remember its window location. This is definitely a bug , not a feature as far as I'm concerned , Apple...a user should be able to place the Alert window anywhere and have it studiously open there, TFN. At least Palm opens up its alert messages dead center.
All I can think of is iCal believes I'm using a higher monitor resolution than I actually am...I use 1024 x 768 but it must think I'm on a 1200 pixel -wide screen. But changing my screen res just to appease iCal is not a solution.

I am having the same problem, on a 24" iMac. This thread prompted me to send an iCal feedback (the link is just below Preferences in the iCal dropdown menu). Maybe if enough of us send Apple feedback about this issue, they'll fix it.

Try changing your screen resolution to something smaller. The Alert window will probably be moved on screen. Shift it to the left, then switch your resolution back. I don't know if that will work, but it might.

I was about to write about this same problem, but thanks to JKT the problem is solved.
The reason why my iCal alarm alert went off screen is because at one time the alert came up when I was playing Call of Duty at 1024x768 resolution. Once my screen was back to native 1920x1200 the alert went off screen. So I changed my res to the 1024x768 and repostioned the alert and now all is well.
