OK, been using Backup 3 for ages now and my external drive is out of space. Two plans with daily backups. One does my Docs and the other does my iApps.

So, I'm looking in the backup location and I see my first full backup file and then millions of incremental backups. At work, I would normally setup my backup software to do fulls one day (Sunday lets say) and then Incrementals through the week. So I could easily just delete the oldest set of fulls.

However, with what I have here with apple is I cannot just delete an incremental, because there is no full after wards. Suggestions on what might be a better plan with backup 3.

Thanks,

richard

If you highlight a Backup plan in the window that appears when you launch Backup, under the Plan menu is the option to do a Full Backup. I guess you would have to do that manually once a week or whatever so that you can delete full or incremental backups prior to that one - I don't think there is a way to schedule it to do Full Backups:

If you look in the Backup Help files, search for Forcing full backup.

Thanks JKT, how I missed that menu option is beyond me. One of those right in front of your faces. Yeah, I guess a manual full every once in a while is needed.

Thanks,
