I recall an app that makes flash content like youtube vids, play at full speed in safari even if the window is not selected. I tried searching Versiontracker but no luck. I'm sure its an obscure app somewhere I know I saw it mentioned somewhere..
I think someone in the Ars Technica forum wrote a SIMBL plugin to do that -- it just overrides the Cocoa method that checks whether a window is frontmost... I'll see if I can find it.
