iPhoto 6 is what I have and I was wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions or tips to offer on speeding up actions like scrolling/ opening the app / etc? Anything that I could switch off in the preferences? Some third party plug in that perhaps preloads pictures (perhaps at the cost of RAM ) .

I have been told that if you split your library up and open smaller libraries, this helps dramatically. Then old down option at start up to select the appropriate library. I am going to try it myself this weekend as with 10,000 pics, iphoto is really slow now...

One useful way to speed it up is to disable shadows around thumbnails, the option is in the preferences.
