I signed up to this media sharing network

www.wedisk.co.kr

but I can't download anything because the website tells me that I need to install/download something called "activeX".

I'm not a computer buff. Is this some kind of plug in thingy?

Where can I download a version for Mac from?

You need Windows and Internet Explorer to use Active X. It's a Microsoft plugin which basically allows webpages to access your computer as they please. I hate it.

Windows? Internet Explorer? F**k that.

Oh well, thanks for telling me. I guess I'll just have to use the PC at work.

Actually ActiveX is more than a plug-in.
"A loosely defined set of technologies developed by Microsoft for sharing information among different applications. ActiveX is an outgrowth of two other Microsoft technologies called OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) and COM (Component Object Model). As a moniker, ActiveX can be very confusing because it applies to a whole set of COM-based technologies. Most people, however, think only of ActiveX controls, which represent a specific way of implementing ActiveX technologies."
