Okay please don't bash me because I am a complete and total Mac newbie and have no idea what I'm doing. I just took the plunge to Macs because they seem to make sense for what I'm doing and I'm just sick of the PC BS, frankly. So here I am with my new Macbook next to me, but I have a problem.
I work from home and one of the platforms that I log into require IE. Yes I know that IE originated in the 6th circle of hell but there is just no way around it. I have to use the gawd-forsaken thing. So I figured it would all be fine and dandy because I have an Intel Duo Processor Mac so I can use Bootcamp. Wonderful.
I received the Mac, downloaded Bootcamp and then inserted the COPY of WinXP Professional with SP2 into the Mac. And there my troubles began - I received a message that said "installer cd cannot be found." Now again, I have a COPY of WinXP but I have a NEW activation key. The disk is not brand new - but rather a burned copy. So I've tried this over and over and I keep coming up with this issue. I have no idea what the problem could be other than the disk being a copy of WinXP.
Can anyone advise me of my next step? Do you think purchasing a brand new WinXP disk would change things or will I get the same message? I'm losing my mind over this and what's worse is that I'm stuck on my old-as-the-hills laptop to work and my shiny new Mac is just sitting, crying tears of loneliness.
Thanks.
