Hey,

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know of a WMV player for Mac that allows you to play DRM .wmv files that require a username and password in order to play? I've tried to obvious suspects - VLC, MPlayer, Flip4Mac and Windows Media for OSX. none work. It appears I need the latest version of WMP for XP, but I have a Mac (obviously).

Any help is appreciated.

p.s. I want my old account back...if a mod sees this, my username is h0tsoup. I used a .mac address to register my account (a few years ago) but I haven't updated my subscription to .mac, so I can't retrieve my password. thanks..

WMV DRM was cracked late last year... you may be able to find a tool that can remove the DRM, but of course you'll need Windows to run the tool.

It takes about .35 seconds to find tools that fit your requirements and that work smoothly and well. I'm still looking for a good tool to convert NON-DRM WMVs to MP3...

iTunes can do that (just drag and drop them in), although the quality of the iTunes MP3 encoder leaves something to be desired.

I didn't think iTunes would even see a WMV... Thanks, it's a start!

Wait, WMV or WMA? I missed the V bit before, probably since you were talking about converting to MP3.

Sorry-typo. It was WMA and iTunes worked fine. Thanks.
