after i restarted my computer, safari is suddenly broken... when opening safari, a new page opens and the throbber on the tab spins for like 2 seconds. then the whole app freezes.. menus are still clickable, however the preferences pane only shows the first page [general] and clicking any other on the toolbar renders a blank page. however, when i right click the safari icon, it shows that Google has loaded on the window...

i only had afloat and taboo installed, but i uninstalled those and the problem persists.

the only thing i had done previously that i could think of was add shauninman's new bookmarklet to safari bookmarks bar...

only thing i can suggest is to choose 'reset safari' from the Safari menu. Although i have no idea if that will work but its worth a go.

If the reset doesn't help, delete the Safari preference file, com.apple.Safari.plist, located in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
