hello, i'm extremely new to the mac world, but i will say this... i love every second of it

my question is however, i've use pc's for as long as i can remember, and i know that it was good for pc's run a disk defragmentation program.. i was just wondering if there is anything along those lines for mac's... just trying to do what best for this amazing computer

As for whether you really need to defragment or not on the Mac, most will say it's not that necessary. OS X defragments smaller files automatically. You can search for the previous discussions on the subject.

There's no need for it.

OS X defrags some files by itself, automatically, in the background.

Unless you constantly fill up your entire hard drive, you're unlikely to benefit from running third party defragmentation utilities (MicroMat's TechTools Pro, if you must.)

Don't worry about it.
