I would like to tell 3rd party applications running in Tiger ---or perhaps OS-X itself----that my default E-mail program is SeaMonkey (Thunderbird/Mozilla). The only options usually presented are Apple's Mail ; Outlook ; or Eudora---none of which I use. Therefore I cannot e-mail directly from inside Google Earth , my HP ScanPro/Image Zone suite , or any of the mainstream Apple apps like iPhoto , etc.

Can Tiger be trained to default to SeaMonkey as its preferred E-mail client ? It's incongruous that I had no problem telling Tiger that my preferred web browser could be Firefox or Mozilla-SeaMonkey , by saying so as a Safari preference . But that grace does not seem to exist for e-mail privileges. What gives?

The default e-mail client can be changed in Mail's General preferences (and probably in other mail clients' preferences as well).

Mac OS can certainly be told to use another mail application. I am using Thunderbird. I think I just used a setting in Thunderbird itself to make it the default.
