I have been trying to post a comment on a previous thread,

but that is consistently being rejected.
Hello, a search for information on this same "problem" lead me to your fine forum.
I have installed many several programs without a hitch, until now. I am sorry that I don't understand the answers offered above.
In particular the fine post by CharlesS on Jan 1, 2007, 09:04 PM.
He captured an image of his cursor clicking on the top right corner of the Firefox folder. (this folder appears when I click on the drive image.) however when I click on the top left button of this folder, well, it acts like the other folder, a tool bar drops down, I can change "View" Or click on icons to jump to Computer, Home, Favorites, Applications. I have only seen a split-screen, like the one in the next two screen captures, I have only seen this type of split screen in iTunes or my Safari Bookmarks. Also, I have never seen a "Action" button.
Let me tell you what I have done, perhaps you can tell me what I have done wrong, or what I need to do.
I am using version 10.2.8 on mac.
I clicked the download button at:
www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
I have my browser set to place downloads in a folder on my desktop. I found the
"Firefox 2.0.0.1.dmg" file there and double clicked on it to install.
A believe a page opened which said that I had installed Firefox.
A Fire fox icon (drive image) appears on my desktop and I am unable to move it to any folders.
I would like to drag it into my Applications folder.
I placed thedmg file in the trash.
When I try to drag the drive image into the Applications folder, I doesn't go there but an alias is created. It seems if I eject the drive image, the alias won't have anywhere to point to. When I 'get info' on the drive image icon, there is a name, Firefox, but no extension. The Format is Mac OS Extended. Status : Not indexed.
Is it possible to install Firefox in my application folder. Should I concern myself with the alias?
