We've got a small lab of computers at school used by the photography class, all of which have photoshop installed. We recently upgraded all the machines to CS2, and we've been having since then (but maybe some before?) trouble with Photoshop crashing while running.

I played around a little today, and wasn't able to find anything conclusive. the machine I was toying with had photoshop crashing during launch for a while. I tried removing the photoshop stuff in /Library/Application Support/ (except the registration database), which got it to launch, but resulted in lots of "program error" dialogs, and it eventually crashed again anyway. I put the Application support stuff back, and now it launched fine too, and would run for a while before crashing.

I can't seem to find any regularity at all in when it crashes.
I got a crash log, and it's available here:
http://arcticmac.home.comcast.net/temp/pscs2crash.log

any help much appreciated.

I have had trouble running CS2 on my MacPro under Rosetta. Once I upped to 3GB memory the crashes disappeared.

CS2 crashes on my girlfriends Powerbook all the time. It's usually when she's using the text tool. I've done everything but reinstall the OS. It's the only app that crashes on her computer.

I guess I should've asked how much memory they had as my Mac crashed until I upped the memory.
