Ok, ok...this is like asking "What's the best sportscar?" Nonetheless...let's see what happens!

Let's keep it simple by saying that I'm shooting miniDV...capturing in FCP5 @ 29.97...and I want to end up with a SD DVD by using DVDSP. Nothing fancy here!

Sooooooooooo...do I use MainConcept's MPEG Encoder Mac(?)...BitVice(?)...Digigami's MegaPEG.X(?)...Heuris' Professional - 2 MPEG Power Professional-2(?)...Telestram's Episode Pro(?)...What do I use????

In terms of priorities, I'm looking for #1 Quality...#2 Speed...then #3 Versatility. Bottom line question: which MPEG2 encoder will make my DVDs the best quality they can be?

Didn't someone post about this just a few weeks ago? He had a comparison of different codecs going from DV to MPEG2.
Mac update estimates: MacBook Pro 1Q10 (quad core Nehalem [Clarksfield]); MacBook 1Q10 (Arrandale); MacBook Air 1Q10 (Arrandale LV); Mac Pro/Xserve 1Q10 (6 core Westmere, 64+GB RAM); iMac 3Q10 (quad core everywhere); Mac mini 2010

Sure did - I looked at Compressor, BitVice, MainConcept against Cinema Craft SP2 on the WIn platform.
