I used to use it heavily but not for some time, now. I have the latest non-beta (5.9.4) and i'm finding it something of a disaster on my new Mac Pro.
I'm trying to batch crop pixels from the right and bottom of JPEG images in manner that doesn't require recompression of the image and the resulting loss of quality.
Clicked the "Crop" button in the browser and got the "Crop for Photoservice" dialog. Entered a 4:6 ratio and checked the box for "Crop JPEGS lossless.
When it gets to the crop window, the ratio of the outline that it showed was closer to 1:6. When i tried to drag one of the corner anchors, the outline snapped suddenly to 4:6. When i let off the mouse button it immediately snaps back to the incorrect ratio.
If i drag the outline to the right, the incorrect ratio becomes worse because it won't seem to let the right edge go beyond where it was, so the outline becomes thinner and thinner.
On top of all that, it won't let me drag the outline to the top of the image. It pops right back down to being 10 pixels or so from the top. I know it has to round it off, but i want the extra pixels removed from the right and bottom.
In trying some other ways to round off the images to multiples of 8 pixels, i attempted to use the grid. More malfunctions. I chose a grid line every 8 pixels and zoomed up on an individual image to crop it. Depending on how fast i scrolled over the image, the grid lines were improperly rendered at varying distances apart.
Besides the apparent bugs, the app crashed rather easily.
Anybody else seeing a lot of bad behaviors with Graphic Converter? (aside from the ancient looking and bloated UI)
