I checked an audio book (well, a book on CD) from the library and have been copying them to my computer so I can put them on my ipod. (And yes, I WILL remove them when I'm done listening to it.) I'm sure there are other ways to do this, but I just make a playlist for the particular CD, put the files on that, and then put the playlist on the ipod. It's tedious but as more and more books are released on CD, and not tape (I still use my Walkman!), that's what I've been doiing.

This book is very strange. The CD queries the database, as happens always. But instead of the particular CD listing the album as "2nd Chair," the CD pops up with "Liars and Thieves," with a whole new author. And the tracks themselves have very strange listings. The second CD had a different book and author (still not the right one), and the third, yet another one. I just did disc 6 today and that one is the only one so far that has a normal numbering scheme and the correct book name.

I've thought of two things -- someone renamed everything for their own twisted reasons or 2) the publishing company did this to make it harder to do what I'm doing.

Has anyone else seen this? It's very strange.

It appears that the database entry for that disc was corrupted. It is strange, but I doubt it's a form of copy protection.
