This is a problem my father seems to be having and I don't know what to tell him:

I'm using Entourage (11.3.3). In my Inbox there is a phantom e-mail that I cannot find, open or delete. Since it "appeared" I have had problems with my e-mail. This could be coincidence.

My Inbox always shows one (1) unread message/e-mail. I've scrolled top to bottom of my e-mails looking for a BOLDED (unread) message. I've selected "Mark All as Read" in "MESSAGE" but it doesn't clear. And, I've clicked on the "snowflake" to bring unread e-mails to the top of the list but get nothing. Shutdowns and Restarts don't clear it either.

Does anyone have any advice for me to pass on? Thanks a lot.

Try rebuilding your database (start Entourage with the option key held down).

will this cause the loss of any e-mails in the Inbox or any other folders w/ saved e-mails?

No, you won't lose anything. It will also create a backup copy of your database.
