Hello All
I can't seem to figure out how to attach images so that they don't appear in the body of the email. I just want attachments that need to be opened by the receiver.

You can put them in a folder, then zip the folder (ctrl-click on the folder, select 'Create Archive of...')

Yeah, it's a good idea to zip all attachments. Mail does stupid things to them (like turning PDFs into tiny JPGs).

Sometimes when I drag a jpg to mail it appears as a picture in the message, other times as an attachment. Why?

I have no idea why, but either way I've learned not to trust it.

If you place an image at the very base of an email, it will usually be an attachment. Placing it anywhere with line breaks or text after it, will place it inline as a HTML email. You can be sure by pressing apple-shift T after putting attachments at the end - which will convert the email to plain text. This way there is no chance of it being inline.

Just want to thank everyone for the suggestions. In the end there doesn't seem to be any perfect solution. Tried the zip method and this isn't too bad especially for other Mac users, however when sent to PC's(which I have to do often), a bunch of folders appear when it's unzipped. The right one is there, but it can be a bit confusing. Converting to plain text and placing the attachments at the end of the message does work, but it also messes up my logo and signature
