Picasa-like photo enhancement for Mac?

I'm an extremely amateur photographer/photoshopper, and there are a few pictures I took recently that could use some touch-up. Using a Picasa on Windows, the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button does a pretty good job. But the enhancement button on iPhoto doesn't do nearly as well.

Is there a Mac app with a really quick and easy touch-up button like that? I'm really bad with light levels in Photoshop.

Thanks.

Something like Gimp will give you an amazing level of control. It's not an iPhoto / Picassa replacement though.

FWIW, the success of the auto-enhancement will depend entirely on the contents of the photo - it will do better for some than for others and this will be true of any application. I would say that you're probably better off sticking with iPhoto and trying the auto-enhancement (then undo if it isn't to your tastes) and adjust it manually if that doesn't work. The reason I say this is because an original copy of the photo is stored for any that you modify, which allows you to revert back to that original at any time (e.g. if you don't like the changes you have made).

What does the iPhoto auto enhance actually do?

I'm guessing the same as Auto-color does in Photoshop: Auto-levels each channel separately.

Have you tried just using Preview, it has some good "tweaking" functions if all you need is a quick fix for your photos. It's fast and useful in a pinch.
