I'm having real trouble adding captions to iMovie and getting the timing right. I have a series of photo slides, that fade in and out, and over each one there should be a caption, which I want to appear in sync with the photo, but slightly after, so that the photo appear, and then about a second later, the caption, then both fade out, and the next appears.
For some reason this is really difficult - am I missing something?
Thanks!

Try splicing the actual clip and fool around the timing then. Like you move the playhead over where you want it to either fade out or dissappear and you cut the clip. Then you can go back and add the clip without the captions. So basically add and cut the clips so they fit with how you were describing. You have to highlight the clip and drage the playhead to where you want then I think it is under edit where you'll find something the lines of "split clip at playhead". Hope that helps....
