I am trying to record vocals from an external USB mic on Garage Band. The vocals record fine but for some reason it will not allow me to listen to them while I am recording. If I use the built in mic then it will allow me to listen to the vocals while I record but the quality isn't the best. Hence, why I purchased an external mic. Can someone help me out with this? I got it to work once but then my system crashed on me and I haven't been able to make it work again.

Have you tried setting the input to your USB mic and the output to internal sound in the Garageband preferences?

There's also a "Monitor: On/Off" setting in the Track Info when you're setting up the track. Just FYI.
