I want to delete a bunch of photos from iPhoto, but I can't seem to be able to do it! When I'm in iPhoto and throw stuff in the trash it just stays there and I am unable to empty the trash (I am talking about the trash can that is actually in the iPhoto sidebar).

So then I tried going into Finder > Home > Pictures > iPhoto Library and deleting all the stuff I don't want. But still, the pics are still appearing in iPhoto. I am really getting aggravated b/c there are pictures showing up in iPhoto that aren't even appearing in Spotlight when I seach for them. I want these photos gone from my computer, but they keep reappearing. Any tips???

Did you trying clicking on the iPhoto main menu and then choosing 'Empty Trash'? Shortcut is shift-command-delete.

Ah, thank you. Does that delete the original from my harddrive too?

It's a little counterintuitive that some apps have their own, separate trash. I would have thought that putting them into the main trash would be easier for users to understand. I can see why, from a programming perspective, app specific trash is nice though.
