Hello all,
I am new to Mac. I'll try to be short.
I used a photo as my desktop background on my macbookpro. However, when I opened the same photo in iphoto, it looks much sharper and the colors are much more vivid than on my desktop background.
I noticed the same thing with all other photos. They look better in iphoto than in Preview for example.

Could someone explain why this is so?

thanks a lot,
JM

Have you adjusted the photo in iPhoto, perhaps?

thanks for your answer.
Yes I adjusted the photo in iphoto and got the better colors on my desktop.
But I am still wondering why there is that difference in color?

thanks

When you make adjustments to a picture in iPhoto, it keeps a copy of the original file should you want to revert to it (e.g. if you don't like the changes or crop that you have made). Is it possible that you have picked the original version for use as your desktop image, whereas in iPhoto, you are viewing the adjusted version, hence the difference in colours?
