Seashore is a Mac OS X native graphics & image editor based on the GIMP source code.
From the Seashore project home page:
Seashore is an open source image editor for Cocoa. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP’s technology and uses the same native file format.
It is NOT the GIMP, but more importantly, unlike GIMP,
it does NOT use X11!
It isn’t as feature rich - yet - as the GIMP, but for the average user, it will probably do just fine (it does for me).
I was able to successfully build an Intel-native
AND Universal Binary of the latest code (a Release Candidate).
I’m hoping the developers will let me make it available on the project home page.
Did I mention that even though it is based on GIMP, it does NOT use X11?
Seashore 0.1.9RC4 Universal Binary
Seashore 0.1.9RC4 Intel Binary.
