I am a coach that has 28 dvds from this season and need to make a highlight video for a kid, I need to take :30second clips to 5 min cliips from each dvd and put them onto one dvd. I have handbrake aka media fork, streamclip, mac the ripper. I belive I have to rip these movies so I can edit them into Imovie before burning it in IDVD. I think that is what I have to do. One problem and need a bit of help. I have a IBOOK g4 and with that being said I ihave 24gb of free space. Is there a way to rip the dvd trim it down to the clip I want and resave it with out saving the whole rip. I have tried many times after I rip it but one whole dvd take up 9gb of space, what I don't understand is how could :30sec to a min take up that much space a bit of help is needed. THanks.

So you are using MPGStreamclip to select the piece you want to rip, right? It sounds like you are ripping the whole thing.
Even if you are, you can do it that way - open the 9gb file in streamclip, and select the bit you want, re-save it as a (much) smaller file, then delete the 9gb. Lather, rinse, repeat, until you have all the clips, then import them into iMovie. When you have the mix right in that, select send to iDVD.
Honestly, your space is very tight with this amound. If you want to do this kind of thing, get an external hard drive with a boat-load of space - they're not expensive these days, and your worries will be over.

One thing I've done in the past is use SnapzPro's video capture feature to record the clips I want from various sources and then import that into my project for assembly/editing. I'm not sure your machine is fast enough to do that tho'...
