Okay, so before I took apart my G4 tower and sold it off, I backed up my entire user folder.... including my entire iTunes folder.

So now I have a 24" iMac, and I dragged my iTunes folder to the hard drive, and all my music is now available through itunes, but my playlists are all gone. Anyway to retrieve them?

Normally they hould be there. Were all the music files located in the iTunes folder in the Music folder in your home directory ? Or somewhere else like another hard drive ?
Is iTunes the exact same version on your iMac as it was on the G4 ?

Ihad the same situation, when I had to replace the hard drive in my PB. Unfortunately, I updated itunes, then have had much difficulty in getting the music back. Finally have the music back, but the playlists seem to be gone forever.

No, different versions of itunes, since this is a brand new computer.

That's probably your issue. Are you sure that the iTunes Library and iTunes Music Library.xml files are present ?
