Hey, so recently my hard drive with about 300 gb of mp3s/movies stopped working. I managed to use the program 'recover my files' to find all the files, but they aren't in the same folder setup i had them in. Using spotlight, I was able to get them out of the completely random directory folders they had been placed in, and put all into the same folder, but now I have reached another difficulty. When I try to use itunes to automatically organize my music collection, it only organizes about half, and leaves the other half of the songs untouched in the folder. My guess is itunes was able to identify the music with artist and album names in the file itself and assign folders to them, but the songs without, it wasn't able to.
Anyway, my question is, is there another music organizing software I can use? Maybe one that uses results from freedb or CDDB to assign folders? Although I can use a windows machine if i need to, i would prefer to use mac, so if there's a program for mac, I would much prefer that.
-Thanks
