I note that the Final Cut Studio tech specs state that a MacBook is not supported. Is that really true for just the Final Cut Pro part of it? If so, is that a new thing, and why? Is Final Cut Pro getting many more CoreVideo type features lately, or is it just because they're using Motion's requirements as a baseline?

Sorry for the n00b question.

I'm running FCP5 on my 3 month old macbook, as well as DVDSP, however no Motion. They both run ok..... but not great.

OK thx. That makes sense. I guess Apple just uses Motion as the baseline for the specs (which is misleading).
