In the last 4 days using iTunes to search the audiobooks section has just sat there, with the progressbar, or popped up a box that times out. I've had to go to audible.com to buy any books.

Try this for example (i'm not even searching in audiobooks only), I go to the store, which I'm logged into, type in the box up top "courtney brown" type that and see. It just sits there, no error nothing, now I go to audible and it pops up instantly.

Apple you are losing money. I personally bought 4 audiobooks today from audible, because the iTunes store has been broken this way for 4 days on and off. My friends say the same thing when they tried it on IM.

Fix Search!

German iTunes Store here, all latest versions of iTunes/OS X 10.4.9 etc.

Returns "Meinten Sie 'Courtney Browne'?", and when I click that, I get two podcasts by Courtney Browne, Ph.D. and a Folk album by Courtney Browne, entitled "Hollywood Lie".

Nevermind, there's a huge thread on discussions.apple.com, It appears that it is only affecting people in the valley, which is annoying since Apple's campus is literally 2 miles from my house, and I have lit fiber to the door.

Something is up with the west coast datacenter and not just my service provider. Lots of people getting time outs.

No, it's happening with tons of people - starting with iTunes 7.1.1, both Mac and PC versions. Going back to 7.0 fixes it. I'm on a mac and having the problem for the last week. Apple is not doing anything about it - they deny there is a problem when 7.0 works and 7.1.1 doesn't. :-(
