I create new playlists quite often, and was wandering if there was any more efficient way to create playlists than draging and dropping. Maybe a keyboard shortcut that would add the currently selected songs to the last used playlist...
any ideas?
thnx

Only way to automatically get music in is to use Smart Playlists, but maybe you can create an AppleScript or Automator action to do that.

Thanks... smart playlists won't do the job though, but I might try and make a script... I'm just a newbie, havn't tried these things before...

I know its not quite what you are after, but this is the way I have done it.
Firstly I downloaded and installed The Filter from The Filter - Instant Playlist Generator Plugin for iTunes.
Then, all you need to do to build a playlist is select up to three songs in iTunes and then press Command + F - and a new 15 track playlist is automatically created from these three initial traks. The playlists are pretty decent btw so might save you a bit of time.
I've also managed to nerd this up a bit recently - I downloaded a little application called Remote Buddy which lets me control iTunes with a Nintendo Wii remote. I mapped out a new command for The Filter, so now I can sit on my couch and listen to my music library - when I hear a song I like I just press the down button on my Wii Remote and The Filter will build me a new playlist build around this song. So slack, but so brilliant.

The Filter works ok... but I like to be in control of what I'm listening to... I figure the best way would be to command click all the song i want to add to a playlist and then generate a new playlist from the selected songs by pressing command shift n. The down side is that I can't use coverflow that way , and besides, why would I want to hold cmd all the time I'm looking for the songs I want to add... bahh!.. guess I'll just keep dragging...
