I emptied the trash can and now I can't edit photos. I'm doing a photo slideshow for the end of year program at school.

Every time I click and photo and move to edit it there's nothing but a black screen, no preview, and it won't even update the effect or anything. Any help is appreciated.

When there is only a preview and no actual photo, it means the original cannot be found, you will have to re-import the photos into iMovie, if you cannot find them, search for them in spotlight, otherwise they're gone . If you just want to do a slide show, just use the slideshow function from an album in iPhoto, a lot easier.

Yep - a LOT easier - iPhoto has some pretty neat and powerful slideshow features.
